It took me years to finally come around to acknowledging that double glazed windows were in fact a sound product and in most cases it makes perfect sense to upgrade old timber windows to more modern double glazing.
I was a proponent for traditional windows and doors and viewed aesthetics as being more important. However, with rising fuel costs it was only a matter of time before people in general realized the biggest advantage of installing double glazing was a saving of 30% or so in winter fuel costs.
