Rewiring any house or flat is a large job and it can be extremely difficult for the homeowner and the electricians if the property is occupied. It’s always far easier and cheaper to rewire an unoccupied house simply because there is usually no furniture or carpets to be moved or relocated.
Time is money so if you think about the amount of time that electricians spend on moving furniture and taking up floor coverings it can work out really expensive to have your property rewired if you leave the floor coverings in place..
We generally recommend that all floor coverings are removed prior to carrying out a rewire as it makes lives simpler for everybody and the electricians can work much quicker. It also means that floor coverings can be taken up and relaid professionally without any damage.
